Whatcom Art Guild Shows — 2009 & 2010

The Guild has three major shows, two minor shows, monthly mini-shows, and shows throughout the community at local venues.

Fall Art by the Lake — November 14-15, 2009
Each November, the Whatcom Art Guild presents a two-day arts and crafts show and sale. Art by the Lake is held in the Bloedel-Donovan Community Building on Lake Whatcom. The public is invited Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm.
Approximately 50 Guild members will display artwork in a variety of categories: paintings in oil, acrylic, and water media; drawings in pencil, pen & ink, and sumi; mixed media or collage; photography; and three-dimensional artwork, such as ceramics, crafts, jewelry, and sculpture.
Art fans can enjoy refreshments, art demonstrations and live music as they browse and shop.
Admission is free.

Rules for Fall Show
Holiday Festival of Arts and Crafts — 5 weekends in November and December 2009
Where: Bottom floor of Waldron Building, 1314 12th Street, Fairhaven, WA
When: Friday through Monday 10 am - 6 pm
               November 20-23
               November 27-30
               December 4-7
               December 11-14
               December 18-21
The show will feature the work of over forty fine local artists including James R. Williamson, renowned marine artist, and members of the Whatcom Weavers Guild with their outstanding hand woven fabrics. Come see artist demonstrations, and view their fine arts, unique crafts, jewelry, photography, holiday items, toys, cards and more for sale.
Ferndale Library Shows — March and September
The Ferndale Library Exhibits in March and September are open to all members. The exhibit is for two-dimensional hanging art only. There is no charge to display your artwork. However, if you sell a piece, the Guild will receive 20%. Register approximately one month before the show at the general meeting or by calling the chairperson.
Ski-to-Sea Art by the Lake — Memorial Day weekend May 28-31, 2010
As part of the annual Ski-to-Sea festivities during the Memorial Day weekend, the Whatcom Art Guild presents a four-day fine arts show and sale. Art by the Lake is held in the Bloedel-Donovan Community Building on Lake Whatcom. The public is invited to the Opening Reception Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Saturday, Sunday and Monday the show runs from 9am-6pm.
Approximately 50 Guild members will display artwork in a variety of categories: paintings in oil, acrylic, and water media; drawings in pencil, pen & ink, and sumi; mixed media or collage; photography; and three-dimensional artwork, such as ceramics, crafts, jewelry, and sculpture.

Rules for Spring Show
Monthly Mini-Shows
Each month Guild members are encouraged to display their artwork at the General Meeting. At the close of the meeting, members vote for the top three pieces. The winners are designated at the Artists of the Month. Their artwork is then featured on the website and hung at participating venues in the community.
