About Whatcom Art Guild

Founded in 1964, Whatcom Art Guild (WAG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and promoting the visual arts of Whatcom County. WAG is Whatcom County’s oldest continuously running art group and is open to all.

WAG’s purpose is to create an environment for artists to exchange ideas, display and sell their artwork, and access educational resources. Additionally, workshops and other activities, including gallery visits and networking opportunities, are offered throughout the year. 

Memberships are paid annually and run from January 1 through December 31. General meetings are held each month to discuss upcoming events. You must be a member to take part in activities such as promotional activities, shows, and the Whatcom Art Market. 

As a community service, Whatcom Art Guild sponsors scholarships for art students at Western Washington University.

Whatcom Art Guild is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All or a portion of donations to Whatcom Art Guild are tax-deductible. Consult your tax advisor regarding applicable IRS regulations.

Bellingham Illuminations – Art in a New Light

“Bellingham Illuminations—Art in a New Light” will be an immersive experience showcasing both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art unified by the theme of phosphorescence and light. The exhibit will feature glow-in-the-dark, fluorescent, phosphorescent, and LED-lit artwork, offering visitors a unique and magical experience.

Spanning two weekends in the Fall of 2025, the exhibit will be open to the public from November 1st through November 9th from 11 am to 6 pm daily.

The 2026 Whatcom Arts Calendar is Here!

We’re excited to announce that the 2026 Whatcom Arts Calendar is now available at the Whatcom Art Market for just $25. Every purchase directly supports the Whatcom Art Guild Scholarship Fund, providing financial assistance to talented local art students as they pursue their creative dreams.

This beautiful calendar features work from our talented Whatcom Art Guild members, showcasing the incredible creativity and artistic spirit right here in our community.

Attend a Meeting

Our meetings are held at Whatcom Art Center at 7 PM.  The meeting location is at 1105 11th St in Bellingham next to the Whatcom Art Market. Anyone may attend free of charge.

Members may bring artwork to show and compete in our monthly Artist of the Month competitions. The top 3-4 pieces are featured for a month in local venues.
